Safety and compliance with EU requirements (for all KSK...-4D models) 1) Identification and documentation required in the EU
For placing on the market in the EU/EEA, typically:
CE + EU Declaration of Conformity (DoC) (this is on the producer/importer side).
Safety instructions and information in the language of the country of sale (e.g. PL).
Product identification (model, manufacturer/importer data, supply parameters).
In practice, for fans 3~380/400 V, key legal acts are:
LVD 2014/35/EU – electrical safety of equipment within specified voltage ranges.
EMC 2014/30/EU – electromagnetic compatibility (emissions and immunity).
RoHS 2011/65/EU + change (EU) 2015/863 – Limiting hazardous substances in EEE.
WEEE 2012/19/EU – rules for collecting/disposing used electrical and electronic equipment.
REACH (EC) No 1907/2006 – requirements for chemicals in products.
In the machinery area: Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 will apply widely from 20.01.2027 (until then, the former “machinery” regime has been in practice).
Practical note: as a seller you can write on the product card “according to the requirements of the EU/CE as declared by the manufacturer”, but it is not worth declaring specific standards if you do not have them in the DoC/DTR.
2) Safe installation rules (product card sticker)
Installation and connection
Installation and electrical connection must be performed qualified electrician according to local requirements.
Device requires grounding (PE).
Use overcurrent security and thermal protection according to the design of the installation and recommendations of the manufacturer (the engine has thermal contacts – connection to external protection).
The fan is designed for work in circular wires (channel). Ensure a tight connection and no stress on the corners.
Do not start the device without properly mounted channels/secure elements (risk of contact with rotating/sucking elements).
Working conditions
Permissible temperature of transported medium: up to +120°C (for applications: hot air, smoke, fat fumes – as in documentation).
Ensure free service access to the search part (constructing facilitates cleaning).
User safety
Do not put your hands or tools in the fan adapters during operation.
Use personal protective equipment (car gloves, glasses) during maintenance and cleaning.
Burn risk: elements can be hot in hot air installations.
3) Cleaning and maintenance (especially for catering)
Before cleaning/service: Disconnect power supply, protect against accidental attachment (LOTO).
Regularly remove accumulated fat and impurities from inside the device and channels.
After cleaning check: connection tightness, seal condition, no impeller abrasion, no unusual vibrations.
Do not use aggressive chemicals that may damage insulation/metal components.
4) Restrictions and warnings (legally valid)
Fans are not intended for explosive atmospheres (ATEX)if the manufacturer clearly does not declare such conformity in the documentation.
Do not use for the transport of corrosion/chemically aggressive media without evidence of material resistance.
Do not modify the design of the device (loss of conformity/safety).
5) Disposal (WEEE)
Product subject to the rules WEEE: do not dispose of municipal waste; transfer to the appropriate collection/collection point.
