Klapy przeciwpożarowe typu KTM przeznaczone są do montażu w instalacjach wentylacji ogólnej jako przegrody odcinające, oddzielające strefę objętą pożarem od pozostałej części budynku (normalnie otwarte). Funkcją tych klap jest powstrzymanie rozprzestrzeniania się ognia, temperatury i dymu. Klapy niezależnie od położenia osi obrotu przegrody odcinającej (tj. przy kącie nachylenia osi 0÷360°), są przeznaczone do zabudowy poziomej (w ścianach) i pionowej (w stropach) oraz poza przegrodą. Klapy typu KTM spełniają klasyfikację w zakresie odporności ogniowej EIS120. Oznacza to, że spełniają one kryteria klasyfikacyjne szczelności ogniowej, izolacyjności i dymoszczelności w czasie 120 minut. Klapy odcinające typu KTM mogą być również montowane w przegrodach budowlanych o niższej klasie odporności ogniowej niż EI120. W przypadku takiego zastosowania ww. klapy mają odporność ogniową równą odporności ogniowej przegrody z zachowaniem kryterium dymoszczelności. Skuteczność klap potwierdzona jest badaniami według normy PN-EN 1366-2.
