Rekuperatory B3B EC są przeznaczone do wentylacji z odzyskiem ciepła w zimie i chłodu w lecie. Mogą być stosowane do różnego rodzaju pomieszczeń przemysłowych i usługowych np: sklepy, przychodnie, restauracje, biura, magazyny itp. Najbardziej przydatne są w pomieszczeniach o dużej emisji energii cieplnej i wymagających dobrej wentylacji. Rekuperatory nie mogą być stosowane do przetłaczania powietrza:- o dużej wilgotności (powyżej 70%), - o wysokiej temperaturze (powyżej 40 stopni Celsjusza)- zawierającego substancje oleiste, pyliste lub żrąceW rekuperatorze zastosowano przeciwprądowy wymiennik ciepła, który umożliwia wysoki odzysk ciepła. Wymiennik ciepła wykonano z celulozy, która pozwala na łatwe wchłanianie wilgoci i umożliwia jej częściowy odzysk z powietrza zużytego. Dzięki czemu nie występuje efekt nadmiernego wysuszania powietrza w pomieszczeniach jak w przypadku wymienników aluminiowych (w większości przypadków nie ma potrzeby stosowania nawilżaczy powietrza). Ponadto zaletą wymienników bezskroplinowych jest brak odpływu kondensatu co znacznie ułatwia montaż i eksploatację urządzenia.
Dodatkowo rekuperatory typu B3B EC zostały wyposażone w automatyczny bypass. Funkcja ta poprzez odpowiednie zaprogramowanie sterownika pozwala na prace centrali z odzyskiem ciepła lub chłodu albo z pominięciem wymiennika. Jest to szczególnie istotne gdy nie życzymy sobie odzysku ciepła ani chłodu. Sytuacje takie występują np. w lecie, nocą gdy temperatura na zewnątrz jest niższa niż wewnątrz pomieszczenia i możemy to wykorzystać do schładzania pomieszczeń.
