Ventilation acrylic or silicone?
For sealing canal passages through partitions, lattice processing and filling rifts at housing reach for acrylic: After drying it can be sanded and painted, so the assembly site can be finished together with the wall. Silicon is more durable in moisture, but remains almost impermeable, therefore it has a narrower use in ventilation. However, for duct connections where pressure tightness counts, neither one or the other shall replace the flange seal and the correct sealing mass.
Why it is worth to have a tip in spray on a construction site
Each cut of the coil, channel drilling and shortening of the threaded rod reveals steel without zinc coating. In the moist room, in the garage and on the roof, this place starts rusting in a few months, and rust stains on the tin can be seen throughout the installation. It takes seconds to rub the edge with zinc in spray and is the cheapest part of maintaining the installation in good condition for years.
Four little things that are most often forgotten
- Collar seals. Channels without sealing connections lose air in the ceiling – this is the most common cause of the installation that "does not pull out".
- Blazers. Packing 250 pieces costs less than one drive to the warehouse during assembly.
- Anti-vibration elements. Gum in and mat under the device is the difference between quiet and audible installation throughout the building.
- A supply of aluminum tape. Consumption is always higher than calculated – bets, fixes and sealing insulation absorb more than expected.

Most common questions about mounting accessories
How do I seal the air duct connections?
Durable sealing is provided by PES flange seals, aluminium straps and sealing masses. Duct tape is only suitable for temporary assembly, because its glue loses its grip on the zinc.
What is the VKPK steel collar for?
To make a flange connection on a round channel – when connecting the device, throttle or segment that will need to be dismantled. Available diameters range from 100 to 630 mm.
What thickness of rubber mat to choose?
Thinr variants of 6 and 9 mm are mainly used for mutement and light insulation, and 13 and 19 mm where condensation on cooling channels and in zones with a high temperature difference needs to be reduced. The greater the temperature difference, the thicker the mat.
Can ventilation acrylic be painted?
Yes, after drying it can be sanded and coated with paint, so it is good to finish and work the grates. Silicon doesn't give that possibility.
Why keep the edges cut with zinc in spray?
Cutting and drilling removes the zinc coating, revealing the steel. In wet places, in the garage and on the roof, such points corrode the fastest, so it is worth wiping them with zinc after treatment.
